18 QUESTIONS · 0 PROMISES- WHAT IS BUTTON?
- A meme token on Robinhood Chain, built on the 2021 buy-button story. Trading BUTTON generates creator fees. BUTTON received as fees is removed from circulation; WETH fees buy GME, which gets dropped to BUTTON holders.
- HOW DO GME DROPS WORK?
- Hold BUTTON in your wallet. Each reward period, WETH creator fees are used to acquire the canonical GME Stock Token and the GME is sent directly to eligible holders, weighted by how much BUTTON you held and for how long during that period. No staking, no claiming, no wallet connection. Amounts and timing vary with actual fees and trading activity; nothing is guaranteed.
- IS THIS GAMESTOP / ROBINHOOD?
- No. Independent project. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with GameStop or Robinhood. GME here means the canonical Robinhood GME Stock Token identified by contract address: economic exposure to the underlying security, not ownership of GameStop shares.
- DO I NEED TO STAKE?
- No. BUTTON V1 has no staking requirement. Eligible holder rewards are calculated from time-weighted BUTTON holdings and GME is distributed directly to wallets.
- DO I NEED TO CONNECT MY WALLET TO THIS WEBSITE?
- No. The BUTTON website is read-only. Trading happens on the verified trading venue linked from this site. BUTTON never asks for your seed phrase or private key.
- WHAT IS GME, EXACTLY?
- GME in this product refers to the canonical Robinhood GME Stock Token, identified by contract address and verified against Robinhood's official registry. It provides economic exposure associated with the underlying asset and is not direct legal or beneficial ownership of GameStop shares.
- HOW IS MY SHARE OF A DROP CALCULATED?
- Amount held × time held. For every block of the reward period your BUTTON balance is added up (integrated). Your weight is your total divided by the total of all eligible wallets, and your GME is the period's GME times that weight, rounded down. Holding 10M BUTTON for a whole period counts about twice as much as holding 10M for half of it. Balances are rebuilt from BUTTON Transfer events, not from a snapshot service.
- CAN I BUY RIGHT BEFORE A DROP AND SELL RIGHT AFTER?
- You can, but it earns almost nothing: rewards are weighted by how long you hold during the period, so a wallet that holds for one block gets one block's worth of weight. There is no point-in-time snapshot to game.
- WHEN DO DROPS HAPPEN?
- Periodically. Reward periods default to 24 hours, but operators wait until enough creator fees have actually been converted to GME to justify a distribution. Distribution amounts and timing vary with actual creator fees and trading activity. There is no fixed schedule and no guaranteed amount.
- WHY DID I NOT RECEIVE GME?
- Common reasons: your calculated share was below the minimum distribution (dust rolls into the next period), your address is on the public exclusion list (pools, protocol contracts, the fee and reward wallets), or the transfer simulation failed for your address. Every drop publishes its full recipient list with a status per wallet on the transparency page.
- ARE GME DROPS GUARANTEED?
- No. Drops depend on actual creator fees, market activity, successful fee processing, liquidity and other risks. Nothing here is a guaranteed yield, income, dividend or return. No APY is shown because none is promised.
- WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BUTTON SIDE OF THE FEES?
- BUTTON received as creator fees is never sold: 100% of it is removed from circulation by transfer to an irrecoverable address. The launch token has no burn function, so total supply is unchanged and the site never calls this a burn. Every removal transaction is on the transparency page.
- WHO SENDS THE DROPS, AND WHAT CAN THEY DO?
- Operators run open-source tooling from the repository: it rebuilds holder balances from chain events, computes a deterministic plan with a published checksum, simulates every transfer, and sends GME from the reward wallet. Every transfer is verified against its receipt before the website counts it. No contract can move your BUTTON: it stays in your wallet the whole time.
- WHY DOES THE BUTTON SAY 'PRESS RESPONSIBLY'?
- Because it is a button, and people press buttons. Before launch it does nothing except judge you slightly. After launch it takes you to the verified trading page.
- WHERE DO THE NUMBERS ON THE SITE COME FROM?
- From Robinhood Chain: contract reads, token transfers touching the creator fee wallet classified by their receipts, and the receipt of every published drop transfer. Nothing is typed in by hand. When a source is unavailable the site shows nothing rather than an invented number.
- WHAT ABOUT THE STAKING CONTRACT IN THE REPOSITORY?
- Staking architecture was developed but intentionally not activated. BUTTON V1 uses holder distributions instead. The contract is not deployed and nothing on this website depends on it.
- IS THIS GAMESTOP?
- No.
- IS THIS ROBINHOOD?
- No.
